Services I offer: complimentary half hour consultation on the telephone or in person to gives us a chance to see if we are a good fit for counselling together. You are under no obligation to continue. If my practice is full or I feel I may not best meet your needs, I can refer you to one of my colleagues. If we continue together I will provide consent and policy forms to be completed prior to our first session. In our first session I will ask questions and prompt you to share reflections to generate insight and the direction for us to continue on. I will provide suggestion to how we may further proceed and together we shall assess, if any, of the other MODALITIES I offer can be of service to you. You will be supported throughout to listen deeply to yourself and communicate your needs, desires and understanding. Additional Modalities. I have found that the therapeutic process can sometimes be enhanced by incorporating creative, exploratory experiences. You will have the opportunity to discover yourself anew through movement, posture, vocalization, writing, song writing, tactile creations, therapeutic gardening, yoga and/or theatrical representation. I will never ask you to do anything you’re not interested in trying as the work is intended to extend your understanding of your inner self. To help move through stagnation, confusion and frustration to more fulfilling states of being. But it will start with and return to your own innate interest and willingness. You will be continuously reminded to notice and listen to your own truth as the primary navigational tool. Our bodies are often a short cut to understanding patterns that are no longer useful, and provide insight into new ways of being and expressing what is most needing to be heard. There is a vast intelligence and esoteric understanding available when we are willing to brave the discomfort of exploring our uncharted, inner terrain. It is my intention to create a space where you feel safe and supported to be seen and heard.

Susan Stenson | Certified BodyTalk PractitionerSusan Stenson is a compassionate, authentic BodyTalk practitioner and instructor who certified in 2004. Having completed over 10,000 sessions, she welcomes you to experience whole healthcare. She has taken all the advanced BodyTalk modules, studied with the association’s best and brightest teachers, and has a thriving practice in Victoria, B.C. but also does distance sessions for clients worldwide. BodyTalk’s whole healthcare approach, based on quantum physics, reduces stress and inflammation, provides clarity to the brain so one can thrive not merely survive. Susan Stenson also practices Parama BodyTalk, the master’s level of John Veltheim’s system. With respect and presence, Susan works with clients in a safe, non-invasive manner in her office on Keewatin Place in the High Quadra area of Victoria. In November, 2006, Susan certified as a BodyTalk Access trainer. She teaches monthly classes to people who want to practice BodyTalk on a daily basis. For more information on BodyTalk Access, visit their website.Susan is skilled in Reiki, counselling, transpersonal therapy, editing and writing. She has a Master’s degree in Curriculum Studies from the University of Victoria and has studied and practiced Tai Chi since 1979.  An expert at helping others get in touch with their body’s potential for well-being, Susan’s clients revere her non-judgemental approach. Susan is also a renowned Canadian poet,  published in every Canadian literary magazine, on CBC radio and in the Poetry in Transit program. Her work is available in most book stores, on the internet, or directly from the publisher. One title, My Mother Agrees with the Dead, is a collection of poems expressing the grief of a daughter watching her mother’s journey with cancer, a book making public the silence often found in grief. When not writing, Susan participates in national and international literary festivals and mentors youth writers. She is one of the founding editors of The Claremont Review, a literary magazine for teen writers, voted Write Magazine’s magazine of the year. She teaches English and creative writing to teens and adults in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. She has also taught at the United World College in Mbabne, Swaziland. She has used BodyTalk to assist the creative process. Clients (actors, dancers, teachers, writers, mothers, professors and lawyers) use BodyTalk to perform at their highest levels. Often what blocks the imagination are socialized habits caught in the subconscious mind. Bringing these blocks to light releases unnatural inhibitions so the work flows with ease. Know That BodyTalk:Is completely non-invasiveWorks with all other therapiesDoes not diagnosisDoes not prescribeOffers affordable, long-lasting healthcareAustralian Chiropractor and Acupuncturist, Dr. John Veltheim, developed the BodyTalk System in 1995. Since then it has been taught to over a thousand practitioners worldwide. Currently there are 47 trained BodyTalk instructors teaching in 25 countries. Graduates include medical doctors and specialists, psychologists, psychotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, naturopaths, physical therapists, osteopaths, nurses, licensed massage therapists, and laypeople.Balancing the Brain (The Cortices Technique)The outstanding growth and success of the BodyTalk system is essentially fuelled by the following factors:1. Outstanding results occur in almost every sphere of heath care: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.2. It can be used as a stand-alone health care or  be seamlessly integrated into any other health care modality and is complementary to each modality.3. It is totally non-invasive and absolutely safe. There are no contraindications to its use.4. No diagnosis is given, no medications prescribed, and no invasive techniques imposed upon the patient. The BodyTalk System does not conflict with, or legally contravene, any existing health care system or law.5. The basic premises underlying The BodyTalk System constitutes a new paradigm for synchronizing and balancing the body-mind that can be implemented in conjunction with any health care system. The body is a very complex ecosystem involving a delicate balance between physiological biochemical functions, emotional and mental interactions, environmental influences, hereditary and genetic restrictions, and the need to synchronize all these factors into a cohesive whole..
