Acupuncture

Acupuncture treatment uses needles to stimulate pressure points on the body to relieve pain and other ailments. By unblocking energy meridians, acupuncture therapy can restore balance to the body.

Acupuncture is a safe, effective treatment, without side effects. It adjusts the natural balance system of the body. Acupuncture is used to prevent and heal illness, and improve general well-being. Sunny's very high success rate and fast healing results come from her unique needling techniques. Her healing modality is highly effective and incorporates cupping, bleeding therapy, and acupressure massage, in addition to common and hot needle acupuncture. **COMMON NEEDLE ACUPUNCTURE** Hair-thin, common needles are inserted into specific points along the meridians, the energy channels of the body. The gentle stimulation of these fine needles triggers the body's natural healing responses. These needles are widely used to: Increase blood circulation, Balance hormones, Relax muscles, Strengthen the immune system, Increase energy, Imporve organ function, Assist the body to regulate and heal itself **HOT NEEDLE ACUPUNCTURE** Hot needle acupuncture originated in China approximately 3,000 years ago, and was originally used to treat arthritis. The world renowned Dr. Puren developed and widely used this treatment throughout his more than 60 years of acupuncture practice. The hot needle technique has been proven to be highly successful in treating arthritis, tendonitis, sports injuries, scar tissues, migraines, headaches, and numbness, as well as other difficult diseases and conditions, such as stroke. Hot needle therapy is a safe, fast and effective healing art. It stimulates the body to create an enormous 'young' energy, and releases natural chemicals inside the body to irrigate, nourish and heal the tissues, and improve the targeted organ's functions. **BLEEDING THERAPY** Bleeding therapy directly unblocks the energy river of the body. It is applied on specific points to remove toxins, and to release pain, swelling or itchiness from the area, allowing the body to balance itself and recovery quickly. **ACUPRESSURE THERAPY** This is a Chinese medical massage therapy which is comprised of acupuncture points and energy channelling to promote healthy 'Qi' flow and healthy organ function in order to prevent and cure diseases. **CUPPING** A simple and traditional natural healing technique used to balance the body, in order to promote healing. The suction coaxes blood and fluids to the treated area which, in turn, releases tight or painful muscles. Cups are usually left on between 5 and 10 minutes. After cupping, the skin may be temporarily reddened, raised, or bruised, which is part of the healing process. However, it is not painful and usually only lasts up to 1 week.

Acupuncture (the insertion of very fine needles to promote the flow of energy within the body) is a balancing technique purported to restore the body to optimal health. The classical Chinese explanation is that channels of energy run in regular patterns through the body and over its surface. These channels, called meridians, are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish the tissues, blood flow and nervous pulses also follow meridians to run through the body to various parts, structures and organs. An obstruction in the movement of these energy rivers are like a dam that backs up the flow in one part of the body and restricts it in others. Any obstruction and blockages or deficiencies of energy, blood and nervous pulses would eventually lead to disease. Needling the acupuncture points can influence the meridians: the acupuncture needles unblock the obstruction at the dams, and reestablish the regular flow through the meridians. Acupuncture treatments can therefore help the body's internal organs to correct imbalances in their digestion, absorption, and energy production activities, and in the circulation of their energy through the meridians. According to the needling methods, acupuncture can be divided into traditional acupuncture, ear acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, scalp acupuncture and hand acupuncture etc. Over the last few decades, traditional acupuncture was widely used combining with other techniques, like moxi-needling, cup-needling etc, to increase the therapeutic effects. Modern science explain the functions of acupuncture as following: Needling the acupuncture points stimulates the nervous system to release chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These chemicals will either change the experience of pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals and hormones, which influence the body's own internal regulating system. Acupuncture has been used by Chinese people for thousands of year, and it becomes more and more popular in the Western societies. Here is the BBC documentary film about the acupuncture.
