I’m a 37yrs old woman, living in Nova Scotia with her husband and two dogs. I was diagnosed with late stage Ovarian Cancer is 33yrs old and have had a reoccurrence already. Each day is a gift and I do my best to give back by volunteering at the hospital and advocating for cancer patients. In my spare time I love to walk, make art, read, thrift shop and play with our dogs.
How will this treatment impact Nadia's life?
Floating is something I’ve wanted to try for years now. It would aid in my injury recovery, reduce chronic pain (which I suffer with), and promote relaxation. It also helps improve muscle range and sleep. Floats also enhance learning (includeing memory, recognition) and cognitive performance. My memory has been greatly effected by chemotherapy so I think this could help. Floats resude stress, depression and anxiety via the increased production of dopamine and endorphins.Floating increases dopamine and endorphins, the neurotransmitters responsible for mood elevation (happiness!)The primary precursor to stress, cortisol production is slowed down while floating, allowing for deep states of rest and relaxation. Mentally it puts you in an altered state which helps develop enhance mediation and mindfulness practice.
