Myalgic Encephalitis (M..E) is a complex disorder which has common symptoms but manifests uniquely to each person.
Conditions: an inability to function from ten minutes to a few hours at a time. Symptoms can include inflammation of soft tissue and sometimes synovial/spinal fluid, chronic flu replication, muscular spasms, degrees of IBS, neural-muscular pain, poor circulation causing extreme coldness (deep freeze) of extremities, hypersensitivity to noise and light and etc.. It is a condition reportedly most common to woman and especially common to adults who experienced grave childhood trauma, extended stress and mild to extreme forms of PTSD.
There is no cure yet, but there are many things that can mitigate symptoms and increase one's ability to regain normality of life.
Misleading to this Syndrome is that people often look of normal health, which creates a situation of “Invisible Disability,” and often family or friends are not capable of understanding as most folks who live with M.E. don't like to admit to the challenges. It can be an extremely isolating situation leading to serious addictions such as Netflix, Podcast, R&R, Meditation, etc. Okay, it has an upside thankfully!
There is a new medical facility at The Vancouver Woman's Hospital which offers a great deal of support to M.E., Lupus and Fibromyalgia Syndromes. It consists of Medical/Naturopath Doctors,
Physiotherapists, Nutritionists, and Social workers. To register your name on the wait list http://www.bcwomens.ca / Complex Chronic Disease Clinic.
I have lived with M.E. for most of my adult life but became very limited by it in 2006. When I am able to work, I do so, but only part-time so far. I found by accident, last year, that the use of Essential Oils has eliminated the Chronic Flu replication which was the worst part of the condition. For almost ten years I was bedridden too many months in the year to complete my academic degree and only worked intermittently. This past year, I found that the Essential oils gave me a new lease on life in that I have not been imprisoned by flu virus for more than the normal! but I sill have other symptoms that stem from childhood PTSD that is very, very difficult. After meeting with Arne Pedersen I understand that a series of sessions and homework in-between could mitigate and likely eliminate many of the symptoms caused by the PTSD. Your contribution to this fundraiser is immensely appreciated.
