  • Glennis's Story

I have lived with Cerebral Palsy all my life. I grew up in a rehabilitation hospital and for the most part have been successful in living an independent life. My husband and I live independently and want to continue to do so for as long as we can. As I am getting older, my cerebral palsy is making it more difficult to move around independently. With my age, my income is also decreasing by nearly half. This is making it difficult to afford things for my health and well-being that I once was able to. With a decrease in services available to me over the last several years, my body is seeing the negative effects. I am looking forward to increasing my movements and learning new ways to help me increase my range of motion, physical health and well-being.

How will this treatment impact Glennis's life?

I have Cerebral Palsy, as I am aging, it is getting more and more difficult to move. Health care will no longer provide stretching, range of motion and exercises to me which has increased my difficulty with movement. My husband has to support me with various exercises and activities of daily living but he too is getting older and this is hard on his body. Receiving these services once a week will help both mine and my husbands quality of life. This service will also support me to continue accessing my local fitness centre
