Practitioner Bio
Agni Larsen is co-founder of Twin Cedars Holistic Health and a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac.) and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCM.P.) with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia.
Agni began her studies at the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Nelson; continued her education at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver and completed her 5-year Doctorate of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC.
Agni was first exposed to acupuncture and Chinese Medicine as a child by virtue of her Chinese heritage and through her mum, who worked for an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist in Saskatchewan. Agni later spent four years in Nepal and completed a BA in in Buddhist Studies & Himalayan Language from Kathmandu University.
As a TCM health care practitioner, Agni is as eager to treat the common cold as she is to address digestive issues, allergies, dermatological concerns, anxiety, stress, pain and trauma, and chronic degenerative conditions. She has a special interest in mental health, addictions, eating disorders, autoimmune conditions, sports medicine and rehabilitation and optimal nutrition. Agni is interested in working with women to balance hormones, regulate their reproductive systems, and support all three trimesters of pregnancy.
Agni has additional training in AcuSculpt and Mei Zen cosmetic acupuncture, facial rejuvenation and cellulite reduction. She has also had the pleasure to be part of the acupuncture clinic at the Victoria Native Friendship Centre, a 40 year old centre that provides services to an estimated 15,000 First Nations people living off reserve in the greater Victoria area. Agni has taught yoga for the last 13 years and is now delighted to offer classes in the Victoria area. She has had the joy to train and practice with teachers in Sivananda, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Sun Power Yoga, Universal Yoga, Yogayantra and Shrivasta yoga methods and the pleasure to learn and teach around the world, from Europe to North America to Asia.
Agni believes that acupuncture and Chinese Medicine add value to society by addressing growing health care needs and offering an effective and natural approach to health. In addition to performing acupuncture, cupping therapy, moxibustion, gua-sha, Tui Na massage and prescribing botanical medicines, she teaches individuals how to become ambassadors of their own health through dietary and lifestyle changes. Her goal is to provide an inclusive space where health care needs will be listened to and to create a collaborative, personalized treatment plan to help individuals achieve their health goals through holistic, empowered design.
